Change doesn’t have to be loud to be life-altering: soft power and the art of stillness
This Taurus Full Moon isn’t about chasing more—it’s about trusting where you are.
I realise I’ve switched my writing schedule so that I’m now posting about new and full moons the week before they occur—I hope you’re finding this more helpful! It should give you enough time to plan your spiritual practice and decide what you want to focus on during each lunation. Even for me, it’s been useful to publish first, reflect, and then return to my own words to decide how best to work with the energy.
As we step into November, we’re greeted early with a Full Moon in Taurus, alongside Mercury retrograde and several planets changing signs.
We have a pretty packed first week of the month:
4th November—Mars enters Sagittarius
5th November—Full Moon in Taurus
6th November—Venus enters Scorpio
7th November—Uranus enters Taurus (currently retrograde)
9th November—Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius (9th Nov-29th Nov)
11th November—Jupiter retrograde in Cancer
Firstly, happy birthday to all the Scorpios! We’re deep in Scorpio season now—the clocks have gone back, the days are shorter, and the sun is setting before 5pm here in the UK.
I’ve been speaking about Scorpio quite a bit recently, they’re such an interesting sign to study. Scorpio and Pisces are both signs that you can never quite get to the bottom of—an emotional depth that feels endless. There’s always more beneath the surface, a depth you won’t reach with them, something unseen, something you’ll never fully uncover unless they want you to. I mean, metaphorically speaking, water signs are like the ocean and how much of the Earth’s oceans have been explored? Only 5%. Whether it’s a hidden talent, an alter ego, or a side of themselves they rarely show, there’s always something mystical and hidden about these signs that will continue to surprise you.
And speaking of water signs—if you caught my last Substack note, you’ll know this week is an especially positive one for Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio. The Universe is blessing us with a grand water trine. A trine is a harmonious aspect between two planets that are 120° apart, creating supportive energy that helps things flow more easily. If you’re feeling more emotional or intuitive than usual, you can thank all the water energy in the sky right now.
Even if you don’t have a water sign in your Big Three (Sun, Moon, Rising), you’ll still feel the benefits. Everyone has all twelve signs in their chart, so wherever Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio fall for you, that’s where life is moving more smoothly at the moment. If you’re not sure how this affects you, leave a comment with your rising sign and I’ll point you in the right direction.
Tip: Meditate! This energy is deeply spiritual and intuitive, so carving out quiet time could bring the clarity or insight you’ve been seeking.
If you saw my Instagram story, I mentioned that we are already in the shadow phase of Mercury retrograde, which means that whatever’s been happening over the past week will resurface in some way during the retrograde (9–29 November). With Mars entering Sagittarius around the same time, be mindful of how you communicate—be honest but not too blunt, it may get taken in the wrong way. Also with Mars in Sagittarius, you may feel like taking a trip somewhere—just check for travel delays as this is always the case when Mercury retrogrades!
Full Moon in Taurus: 5th November at 1:20pm
The Full Moon in Taurus brings a much-needed moment of calm after what’s felt like a chaotic few weeks. Full Moons mark a point of release or culmination—a time when everything that’s been building finally comes to a head, helping you see what’s ready to shift or be let go of. In Taurus, this lunation is about grounding yourself, finding stability, and reconnecting with what makes you feel safe and steady. Taurus signs are concerned with security, commitment and stability. You might notice how these themes come up, particularly with money, self-worth, your body, or your home—anything tied to comfort and value.
Full moons are when the Sun and Moon sit opposite each other in the sky. So the Sun in Scorpio is opposing the Moon in Taurus. This lunation forms a bridge between stability and change. Taurus wants to stabilise, commit and consider the long-term value, Scorpio energy wants to transform, transmute and evolve the narrative. Together, they ask: What’s worth keeping, and what’s ready to change?
What I like about this Full Moon is that the Moon is exalted in Taurus. This means that it performs best here, it has all the right tools to do it’s job. The Moon represents our emotions, intuition, our body, and in Taurus, it provides emotional security and stability with how we are feeling and thinking. Remember, Taurus is ruled by Venus who at the time of this Full Moon will also be well-placed in her home sign of Libra, so this is a harmonious, spiritual energy that we have with ourselves—quite rooted in our being. I highly recommend to make use of this creatively—especially as we will still be under the influence of the grand water trine I mentioned earlier.
However…
Like the recent New Moon we had in Libra, there are a few transits surrounding this lunation that I don’t like and could make things challenging.
So whilst there is a lot of optimism, harmony, creativity with this Full Moon, we also have Mars in Sagittarius, conjunct Mercury and opposing Uranus (retrograde) in Gemini. That’s a volatile mix. When I say watch your words, watch your words.
The good news is that we’re not new to this energy, Mercury and Mars were conjunct in Scorpio. However, this time, we have the added layer of the Uranus opposition. An opposition is a tense aspect that can come with challenging or unexpected news. Uranus is the planet of surprise and chaos and Mercury and Mars together can represent aggressive or impulsive communication. Because Uranus is retrograde in Gemini, this may bring up old conversations or unresolved issues. If secrets or hidden truths come to light over the next week, you’ll know why.
Even though there may be some unexpected news around this lunation that could throw you, with the Moon in Taurus, you have the capability to confront it and stand strong in your decision.
That’s not all though…I’m sorry!
Venus in Libra sits opposite Chiron in Aries during this Full Moon. But once again, we’re not new to this, we had the same opposition with the recent New Moon.
Chiron is an asteroid known as the ‘wounded healer’ in astrology, highlighting our insecurities and tender spots, but also our power to turn pain into wisdom. So this Full Moon may be shining a light on where you still feel unworthy or vulnerable, inviting you to see those wounds through a more compassionate lens with the Moon in Taurus.
One final point about this lunation—it could bring up relationship drama or some home truths—particularly with that Mercury-Mars conjunction. This might look like heartfelt (or heated) conversations, sudden revelations, news of affairs, secrets revealed, or long-held emotions being voiced. Or it could mean a change or shift within your relationships whether romantic, platonic, or professional.
As I mentioned earlier, with the Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Taurus, there’s a tension between stability and change—should I stay or should I go? Has this relationship served its purpose? What’s the long-term value? Do we develop this further or go our separate ways?
When we apply that to relationships, this could manifest as you and your partner being at odds with each other on a particular topic. You may be feeling that push-pull energy—one of you wants stability where you’re currently at (Taurus), the other wants change and sees value in something or somewhere else (Scorpio). Whatever unfolds, trust that it’s helping you move toward something more aligned.
As we move through this Full Moon, try to slow down and stay present as best you can. Taurus teaches us that lasting change doesn’t happen overnight, it’s steady, patient, and starts with small steps. Stand firm in what you value. You don’t need to rush into action or force answers, let things unfold naturally. This Full Moon is your reminder that peace is found in the pause, and strength is found in stillness.
Happy Full Moon!

That last line is everything and such a great important reminder in a world where we feel we must always go go go.
