First things first; I won’t ever give you advice that I wouldn’t take myself.

it wasn’t much lol but still something!

This blog is first and foremost, a research & experimentation blog.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. Someone asked me what my blog is about, what I write about and what I’m trying to do with it.

I never really know how to answer that question when I’m put on the spot like that because to say only astrology feels reductive. I like to write about a range of things because I have many interests and curiosities. Though, this is typically seen as a ‘problem’—the inability to niche down. I’ve always struggled with that because I see myself as a multi-faceted person. Yes I live and breathe astrology, but I could say the same for health & wellness. I’m always testing and experimenting on myself. I want to start writing articles solely on health/wellness/beauty/fashion but I’m also concerned about alienating the people who only subscribed for the astrology content!

The connecting link between all my interests, however, always comes back to ~pattern observation~. Whether I’m buying 20 lipsticks to find the perfect nude, or rotating skincare brands to see what actually works, I’m researching, testing, experimenting and observing; in the exact same way I do with astrology: researching and observing patterns.

So I guess you could say OTHERWORLDLY is a knowledge brand[?]

I am meaning-making, using astrology as a tool, to synthesise and contextualise human experience—an emotional translator or curator of insight if you will.

Whether I’m writing about eclipses, relationships, career woes, femininity, culture, or spirituality, I’m usually trying to extract meaning from experience, and in turn; help people understand the story of what they’re experiencing through an astrological lens.

Well…not just what you’re experiencing, but who you’re becoming because of it.

And in-between all of that, I’m documenting my own observations. Collecting stories and perspectives from my life, because I trust life enough to participate in it. Meaning is found through participation, not observation alone.

I believe in radical openness. The belief that life itself is meaningful i.e. everything happens for a reason, including your ‘mistakes’.

The way I see it, life is a collection of ‘data points’. Every conversation, connection and experience is a data point that helps you contextualise your life and connects the dots to keep you aligned on your path. You’re wisdom-building.

There’s a lot of stupid shit I’ve gotten myself into purely based on my naive and open approach to living life at the fullest in the name of learned experiences or data points. I guess people now call it ‘doing it for the plot’, but I don’t have any specific intention or motive other than genuine curiosity and going with the flow. Maybe that’s a Pisces thing…

I felt called to share all of that with you as we move into a week of transition.

Last week I mentioned that this weekend, Venus squares Chiron and Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow…which is why I’ve been reassessing and reevaluating what this blog means!

If you’re a Cancer Sun/Moon/Rising, or have any placements at 16° or 26° Cancer, this retrograde is going to be particularly relevant for you.

As with all Mercury retrogrades, expect travel delays, communication errors, misunderstandings and technical glitches. A Mercury retrograde is always about the re words: revise, redo, reevaluate.

We still have some time, until the actual retrograde begins (29th June) but start making a mental note about what’s coming back around in your life to be readdressed—this is likely going to be the theme of your personal Mercury retrograde experience.

I also want to go back to my note on Chiron—like I said last week, Venus has just squared the asteroid Chiron at a critical degree point. And that’s because come Friday, Chiron FINALLY moves out of Aries and into Taurus! This is a huge deal, cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn) finally get to breathe a little, the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) are up next. I’ll talk more about this in the next couple of articles but Chiron will be here until September before retrograding into Aries again. If you’d like more context about this, you can access this information in the individual sign guides I created here.

I also mentioned in last week’s article, that Uranus is currently square the nodes. So where have you this week realised you’ve gained a new perspective on something? What’s been unexpectedly presented to you? It could be a new opportunity, a redirection of your path, meeting someone new all of a sudden, going viral on one of your posts…Uranus is the planet of surprise, and in Gemini, this is a disruption of our thought patterns, mental health, information, connections and conversations. Watch out for sudden endings and beginnings.

New Moon in Gemini: 15th June, 3:55am BST

This New Moon isn’t loud in terms of aspects—it’s not aspecting any other planet! Taking place at 24° Gemini, the New Moon is ruled by Mercury, but as I’ve just mentioned, Mercury has now entered its shadow period.

Uranus newly in Gemini, is still going to be squaring the nodes—there’s an ‘unsettling’ feeling in the Gemini part of your chart where disruption and change is still occurring. Remember, everyone has all 12 signs in their birth chart—if you don’t know where Gemini is, you can drop your rising sign in the comments and I’ll help you out.

Gemini is the sign of the twins—more than one possibility, more than one truth. This New Moon may be presenting multiple opportunities to you, and it will be your job to discern which is the best path to take—particularly with this retrograde shadow (note where opportunities from the past may come back around for your reconsideration). Like I said, Uranus at the bending of the nodes means sudden endings and beginnings. If certain aspects of your life are closing out, this could actually be the energy of this New Moon + Uranus making space for what’s to come.

This New Moon isn’t exactly optimistic, or at least not at first anyway. It may deliver you some tough reality checks about your behaviour and habits. What I find useful from this, is contemplating where I’ve become so fed up with myself lol. Fed up with repeating a pattern that isn’t serving me. I’ll give you an example—literally this week I was talking with a friend about how frustrated I am with the dating scene and how I still somehow find myself on dates that don’t lead anywhere. She told me that I’ve been focusing too much on others and noticed that I hadn’t really been prioritising myself recently. I realised that I had, once again, put too much of my energy and time in things outside of myself and outside of my control, when only a couple of months ago I had decided that I need to put that energy and time into myself and my career. It’s easy for me to fall into this pattern as a Libra rising—Libra is concerned with the ‘other’, everything I see and do is filtered through the lens of relationships being key to life. Aries sits on the opposite end of this axis—Aries is concerned with self; Aries is ‘me’ and Libra is ‘we’. The middle ground for both of these signs needs to be found for true balance.

With Mercury in Cancer, you’re going to need to feel your way through this lunation. What feels right to you? Intuitively, which direction feels best to head in, even if you’re unsure of where that’s going to lead you?

And what about your intentions? I’m sure you’ve already been contemplating where you want to commit to a new way of thinking, a new way of being, a new plan or just expansion and growth in general.

The intentions you plant now during this lunation will build over the next six months and by the end of the year, you should see how this came to fruition. You will be able to trace the reward back to this point. ~However~if you’re planning on setting intentions, I would not do it on the same day as this new moon. It’s not making any aspects, and with Mercury in pre-shadow, it’s best to slow down, wait, observe what comes and then decide how you’re going to act.

If you want to set intentions I would do it on either of these days:
