Speak It Into Existence: Gemini New Moon Magic
After the intensity of Scorpio’s full moon, this lunation offers clarity, curiosity, and the power of clear communication.
Finally. A moon without drama.
Our last lunation was the full moon in Scorpio, and it was heavy. You may have noticed everyone around you acting out—people were on edge, paranoia, secrets, and unexpected twists arose. And if this didn’t play out in your personal life, we definitely saw it in the collective. Just look at pop culture for a start: the Diddy trial started under the full moon, and I told you it would be coming back with full force in 2025. Diddy is a Scorpio, and this full moon shone its light on him with intensity.
Now we get a well-deserved break with the new moon.
I’m really excited about this one—if you’ve been stuck on a project, waiting for the right time to launch something, or want to publish your work, this is the right moon to do it under.
Gemini New Moon: 27th May 2025 4:02AM BST
The upcoming New Moon is a breath of fresh air after all the difficult astrology we’ve been through so far this year. This one is full of potential.
This Gemini New Moon brings a collective invitation to reassess how we think, speak, and connect. New Moons are moments of stillness and intention, and in Gemini, the focus shifts to our thoughts, our words, and the stories we tell ourselves and each other because Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet associated with communication. This is why Geminis are known for loving to talk!
This new moon is happening at 6° of Gemini. 6° carries the influence of Virgo, which is poetic considering Virgo is also ruled by Mercury. So, this is really doubling down on Mercury themes of communication and travel. This could be a time where you study abroad, travel to a new destination to learn something new, start a new course of study, or publish a writing project. These are only a few examples, but the point is: this new moon is perfect for setting intentions around learning, communicating, publishing, or travel.
If things have felt foggy or scattered lately, this lunation can help you reconnect with your voice and refine your narrative. It’s a great time to journal, speak something into existence, or pitch an idea.
Here’s another reason why I love this New Moon: it will conjunct Mercury in its own sign—meaning the new moon in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, will also be sitting next to Mercury itself. So now we’re tripling down! Can the message be any clearer?! Communication, communication, communication.
Let me caveat though.
With this much activity in Mercury—and with Gemini being an air sign—you could feel a little overwhelmed with the energy. This may look like not knowing which project to start first, having too many ideas to focus on refining one, overbooking yourself, and trying to do too many things at once. Air signs tend to struggle with overthinking, burnout (particularly mental), and anxiety. Slow down and take a logical approach during this time.
That’s why I decided to write this new moon post further in advance than I usually do around key lunation periods: to give you some time to think about what you want to use this moon’s energy for.
And if you don’t know how you want to use it, that’s okay too. I don’t manifest or set intentions with every moon—especially if I feel hesitant about what I want to achieve at the time. I’m actually of the opinion that sometimes, it’s beneficial to pause and let the Universe bring you what it knows you need, rather than what you think you need.
Another reason why I love this full moon? Jupiter is still in Gemini.
Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, will expand whatever it is that you’re trying to manifest. So like I said, this is a great new moon full of potential!
Gemini energy is quick, curious, and adaptable—but this New Moon asks for more than just scattered thoughts or half-spoken wishes. With Mercury present, your intentions will land best when they’re both clear and committed.
This is a moon for scripting new narratives, especially around how you think, learn, communicate, and share your ideas. Write your intentions as if they’ve already happened. Use language that feels aligned, confident, and forward-moving.
Tarot Pull: A Message for the Collective
I thought I’d try something new and integrate tarot within some of my articles. On New and Full Moons I tend to pull a card for myself as part of my own spiritual practice to see which themes could come up for me. Instead, I pulled one for the collective today, for this new moon.
The Queen of Pentacles (upright) + The Four of Swords (reversed)
Wow—talk about alignment. This is a grounding yet gently urgent message: the Queen of Pentacles symbolises resourcefulness, and practical abundance. She encourages us to cultivate comfort and security, both emotionally and materially, especially by tending to our home life, bodies, and routines with care. In contrast, the Four of Swords reversed suggests it's time to reawaken after a period of rest or stagnation—it signals a need to re-engage, but with caution against burnout or neglecting self-care.
Together, these cards ask us to balance action with grounded intention. As Gemini stirs your mind and inspires communication, this tarot pairing reminds us to stay connected to our physical needs and the rhythms of our body. It’s a time to gently step back into the world, refreshed and intentional, without abandoning the inner sanctuary we’ve built. Let your new moon intentions be rooted in self-respect, sustainability, and a pace that truly supports your well-being.
Don’t speak your doubts louder than your dreams.
This is the seed-planting moment for a new mindset—happy New Moon!
