Your Big Break is Coming...
Career clarity, post-eclipse musings, Jupiter retrograde, Pluto direct
Hi Friends,
How has everyone been coping since the eclipse? By now, you may have started to sense the clarity and revelations this final Libra eclipse has ushered into your life (I mentioned why that is in my previous article).
Something has shifted internally for you this weekend, have you felt it? Have you recognised it? Obstacles are clearing.
In my view, there are three key reasons for this transformation, and I’ll explore them in more detail in today’s article:
We are post-solar eclipse and continue to receive downloads
Pluto has turned direct as of 11th October which is particularly important for Aries, Libra, Cancer & Capricorn
Yesterday, 12th October, was Dussehra, the concluding day of Navratri, a Hindu festival that honors the divine feminine. The symbolism of this day—victory over darkness and the triumph of good over evil—resonates strongly with the above two points
1) POST-ECLIPSE:
I won’t go into too much detail about the eclipses, as I recently covered them in a three-part series that dives into how they impact each zodiac sign. You can visit my homepage to read the specifics. However, what’s important to note is that the influence of this eclipse cycle is beginning to weave its way into your life. You may not have the full picture just yet—if only it were that easy—but piece by piece the puzzle is starting to form.
At the moment, some lingering fog is preventing you from seeing the entire story clearly, so try to avoid reacting impulsively. Several planets are still retrograde (retrograde=when a planet appears to move backwards), which may explain why you’ve been feeling like things have slowed down over the past few days. You’re not alone in this feeling; Jupiter just went retrograde on the 9th October until 4th February 2025. Mercury isn’t the only planet that retrogrades, it’s just the most frequent! Jupiter is the planet of expansion (neither good or bad, depends on what it’s expanding in your life—dictated by where it sits in your chart). It governs themes of abundance, knowledge, faith/spirituality, beliefs and higher education. When any planet goes retrograde, it offers us an opportunity to reflect, reassess, and revisit our goals and needs according to the area of life it influences.
Jupiter is currently retrograding through Gemini, starting at 21º and moving back to 11º. Once it completes this retrograde period in early February, it will resume its forward motion, which means it will eventually pass through 21º Gemini again. Keeping a journal or visual diary is useful as you can track the themes that appear now in your life to see how this will evolve early next year. For example, Jupiter’s end point in the retrograde will be at 11º—a point that it has already passed to get to its current position in the sky. This 11º point was back in July, so you can look at what was going on in your life in July for a hint at what’s coming back for your attention once again until February 2025.
Hopefully I’ve explained this well enough, but rest assured, I’ll be with you every step of the way sending reminders of important dates and breaking everything down in these articles. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen the advice I shared about this retrograde based on your zodiac sign. If you haven’t followed me yet, I suggest doing so, as I often share helpful insights and tidbits there. To sum it up however, since Jupiter is an outer planet, its retrograde impacts us collectively, rather than just on a personal level. Whilst it's retrograding in Gemini, you can expect themes around communication, transportation, and social connections to come into focus. Issues related to writing or creative projects from the past may resurface, giving you a chance to revise or revisit them.
There is a silver lining however…
2) PLUTO IS DIRECT:
Pluto has finally ended its retrograde and is moving direct again in Capricorn. This marks a significant moment—THIS IS THE LAST TIME WE WILL SEE PLUTO IN CAPRICORN IN OUR LIVES—this is a big deal people! Pluto, the planet of transformation, power, authority, death and rebirth, secrets, and the taboo, has been reshaping our world since it first entered Capricorn in 2008. For 16 years, its presence has steadily shifted our collective and personal understanding of power structures, capitalism, and authority. Now, as it makes its final pass through Capricorn, it’s time to reflect on how far we’ve come.
Consider the last 16 years and how you’ve changed. For me personally, I’ve experienced a profound transformation in how I assert authority in my own life. In my early teens and twenties, I was often caught in a power struggle between cultural and traditional expectations versus my own values and unconventional aspirations. Pluto in Capricorn has helped me to understand the power of owning and speaking your truth; I work every day to express myself with greater authenticity and transparency, even if it goes against the grain.
My relationship with my career has changed also, and I’m sure for most of you reading this, yours has too. I’ve always been ambitious, knowing from a young age that I wanted to lead—whether as a creative director, high-level exec, or to be my own boss. That’s in addition to the other dream jobs I had as a child: marine biologist to help look after dolphins (I was a great swimmer but wasn’t the best at science lol), fashion designer (loved sketching clothing ideas but struggled with sewing machines), archaeologist (fascinated by ancient history but unsure how to break into the field—one which didn’t seem particularly diverse) and celebrity make-up artist (obsessed with cosmetics but this wasn’t a ‘traditionally accepted’ career path growing up).
I was around 9 or 10 years old, standing at the front of the classroom, proudly presenting my charcoal self-portrait to the rest of the class. I had just won the best drawing among the girls, whilst Jonathan Bell took the top spot for the boys. As we stood there, I had a sudden vision (albeit I didn’t realise that’s what it was until over a decade later) of studio lights, specifically the ones identical to the iconic 20th Century Fox logo intro. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, nor did I realise that it was a glimpse of my future.
As life unfolded, I went through the motions—unpaid internships, various jobs in different fields—never really connecting the dots back to that vision. But as the years passed, the memory of it began to surface more frequently, settling in the back of my mind and quietly urging me to pay attention. Finally I found the courage to quit the trajectory I was on and pursue my dream of working in the entertainment industry. I worked my way up, achieving my long-term goal of working in Hollywood. It felt like everything had finally come full circle—the vision that had once been a fleeting moment in the classroom was now my reality. I had finally made it.
Pluto, however, had other plans for me. This planet is known for reshaping one’s experiences with power, sometimes making you feel like you’re on top of the world with everything figured out, only to completely dismantle those illusions and force you into total transformation. It’s a cycle of death and rebirth, and right now, I’m at the end of that journey—the ‘American dream’ I envisioned at 9 or 10 years old is losing its luster, at least as it relates to Corporate America. Now that I’ve pulled back the curtain, I’m starting to seriously question whether my contribution is still being valued. As I grow older, I'm becoming more attuned to these Plutonian themes of power and authority and realising that it’s my unique value which has the potential to create impact and drive powerful change. After all, people make the company, not the other way around. It’s time I start investing my energy in building something for myself, rather than in a job where I’m overworked and underpaid. I want to bring that dream of leadership into my own business, rather than continuing to pour my efforts into someone else’s. Who knows, maybe this blog is the seed to achieving that goal.
All this to say, I’ve slowed down and begun to accept the recent stagnancy in my career as a sign that I should also be considering the bigger picture of my future. That doesn’t mean I’m turning my back on everything I’ve worked for. I’m still ambitious, I still want to succeed, and I still value mentoring others. If a higher position within my current company were offered, I wouldn’t hesitate to take it. My career means a lot to me, it’s a significant part of my life. I was raised with a strong work ethic, having witnessed it within my family—as you do when you come from an ethnic minority background, because what’s the alternative?
Work has always excited me, providing a sense of discipline and independence that comes from earning your own money and understanding its value. It has given me purpose, but I guess that purpose is just shifting now. The 'climb to the top' doesn’t hold the same weight or power over me as it once did, at least not when it comes to advancing within someone else’s company. And then there’s the matter of family, marriage, and kids to factor into this evolving sense of purpose—but that’s a conversation for another day.
As a collective, especially among Gen-Z, priorities are shifting to place personal needs front and center in a post-pandemic world. Think about how, pre-pandemic, we went into the office 5 days a week, 9 to 5—not including time commuting—I once worked at a job where my commute was 2 hours one way! A lot has changed. I explained how Pluto in Capricorn has been contributing to the mass resignation of CEOs, the breakdown of traditional structures—particularly corporate related, and the downfall of major Hollywood players in this article. To sum it up, your relationship with authority and achievement has transformed over the last 16 years. As Pluto transitions into Aquarius, we will collectively rethink what these concepts mean in our current society. We experienced a preview of Pluto in Aquarius from January to September this year, during which we began witnessing the decline of the traditional 9-to-5 work model (Pluto in Capricorn) and the rise of revolutionary hybrid and flexible working arrangements (Pluto in Aquarius), alongside a wave of mass resignations. Pluto in Aquarius will bring significant change to our work lives, particularly with technology further integrating into our daily routines. Social norms and ideologies will look a lot different starting at the end of this year—Aquarius is all about humanity, networks, and community. I’ll be writing much more on this when the time comes, so stay tuned because you won’t want to miss it.
I really digressed from the point I actually wanted to highlight which is; Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn: YOUR BREAK IS COMING! As soon as Pluto transitions into Aquarius on November 19th, the pressure will be lifted. Pluto is a challenging planet to have in significant angles or houses of your chart, as has been the case for you. Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn are all known as Cardinal signs and when a significant planet like Pluto is traveling through one of these signs, it has an impact on the rest. Whilst we’ve all experienced significant changes collectively over the last 16 years, it’s these Cardinal signs that have felt the heaviest burden. Next up: Aquarius, Leo, Taurus and Scorpio.
3) DUSSEHRA AND NAVRATRI:
This festival may not be widely known outside of Hindu, Sikh, and Jain communities, and it's not one I’ve personally celebrated. However, I felt it was important to include it here given its relevance to the theme of change that I’m discussing in this article—especially as I write this on the focal day of the ceremony.

Navratri, known as the festival of the divine feminine, spans nine days and culminates in the Dussehra celebration (also called Vijayadashami) on the tenth day. Those who observe this festival give thanks to the goddess Durga, who is celebrated for her victory over the evil demon, Mahishasura, in a battle that lasted nine days and nights. Hence the festival honors Durga’s triumph, with Dussehra symbolising the victory of good over evil. As Pluto literally just turned direct, I feel like this timing really aligns and resonates with the clarity we all—especially Cardinal signs—are beginning to experience as Pluto wraps up its final journey through Capricorn.
Typically, the nine nights of Navratri (Nav/Nava means nine and ratri means nights) are dedicated to various aspects of the divine feminine principle, or shakti. During this time, offerings are made, and rituals are performed in worship of different goddesses. It’s believed that Dussehra, the tenth day, is particularly auspicious, bringing much-needed positive change from this point onward.
Goddess Durga represents strength, resilience, and the power to overcome adversity. Her triumph over the demon serves as a powerful reminder that we all possess the inner strength to conquer our challenges and emerge transformed. As we navigate this Plutonian shift in our own lives, it's fitting to end it on this note, but stay attuned to any changes or revelations that may unveil the larger puzzle of your life.
The blog is the seed
YES! Something has definitely shifted internally for me this weekend. The post-eclipse fog is dissipating slowly, but, as you wrote, piece by piece, the puzzle is starting to form. On a different note, I loved how you mentioned that one of the manifestations of Pluto in Capricorn is the end of the 9 to 5 as we know it. I'm so here for it! Thank you so much for this post. I utterly enjoyed it!
