From Retrogrades to Renewal: The Calm before the Venus Storm
Take advantage of the week ahead: Mars retrograde is finally ending, Venus retrograde is on the horizon, and a Pisces New Moon is here to guide you.
Hi Friends,
I hope you’re all surviving this blur we’re experiencing right now. If time feels like it’s slipping away, if you can’t quite keep track of things, and if your emotions are all over the place…welcome to Pisces season!
Yes, the Sun has now moved into Pisces, which means we’re turning inward and exploring the depths of our emotions as we shift into water sign energy. You may find yourself offering yourself a little extra TLC, allowing yourself to feel your feelings and reflecting on what you truly want to align with in this next chapter of your life. Pisces is the last sign in the zodiac, meaning this is the last month before the real New Year begins (if you missed the memo on that, read here). Expect to feel a sense of urgency, a culminating energy, as you clean up and finalise certain aspects of life.
Be gentle with yourself—Pisces energy can feel overwhelming. Instead of letting it consume you, try channeling it into something creative. Pisces is one of the most artistic and imaginative signs of the zodiac, so take advantage of this energy by experimenting with something new and exciting.
Personally, I’m using Pisces season as an opportunity to reconnect with my inner child. I’m taking myself on little outings and finally checking things off my list that I’ve been meaning to do forever. Today, for example, I went to a pottery workshop and made myself a matcha cup! Cute, fun, creative—Pisces.
Last night I took myself to see Oedipus with Rami Malek and Indira Varma at the West End—both actors gave amazing performances but it was the dancers and their costume styling that really stole the show. If you’re in London and looking for something to do, I highly recommend it (and who doesn’t love the Old Vic theatre?).
Pisces season doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom—if you don’t let it. Make it about the arts and culture!
But here’s the real good news…
MARS IS ENDING IT’S RETROGRADE on the 24th at 2AM GMT!!!
I have been counting down the days because this retrograde has been kicking my ass. Mars has been in Cancer, a sign where it struggles to express its full strength since Cancer’s emotional nature clashes with Mars’ action-oriented drive. If you want more context on this, check out my Mars in Cancer article—especially helpful for those with heavy Cancer placements.
In my opinion, Mars retrograde is much tougher than Mercury retrograde because it drains our drive, passion, and motivation. It also lasts a lot longer than a Mercury retrograde—we’ve been in Mars retrograde since early December 2024 but hallelujah, we’ve finally made it through.
You’ll start noticing momentum picking up where things have felt stagnant or frustratingly slow. Over the last few months, you may have felt like the Universe put you on hold, waiting for insight, a sign, or a breakthrough. Now, as Mars moves direct again, expect your energy to return and watch how the lessons from this retrograde—whether consciously or unconsciously—have reshaped an area of your life.
But alas, out of one retrograde and into another…
Venus Retrograde Begins 2nd March
I told you in my 2025 astrology overview that this year was coming at us fast. And here we are—entering yet another retrograde. Venus retrograde is an interesting one though, as it occurs in 8-year repetition periods. This means the themes and storylines unfolding now may feel oddly familiar—they’re likely connected to events from 8 years ago.
Don’t worry, I’ll break this all down in next week’s article. But for now, I want to focus on the week before Venus retrograde kicks in.
Next week is the calm before the Venus storm.
Take Advantage of the 24-28th February
If you have something important to start, a project to finish, or a contract to sign, use this window of time! The Universe is gifting us a brief pause before we dive back into retrograde chaos—first Venus, then Mercury shortly after—the fun never stops, right?
On top of that, we have a New Moon in Pisces on February 27/28th depending on where you are in the world (February 28th at 12:45 AM GMT). This is a powerful time to set intentions—especially before we head into eclipse season again.
The astrology of 2025 is life-changing enough, but March? March is the real turning point.
I’ll be back next week with more on the Venus retrograde do’s and don’ts, plus everything you need to know about the Pisces New Moon before eclipse season begins.
Have a lovely weekend. ✨ x
just went through a horrific breakup with a narcissist. the universe said MOVE!
Loved reading this, and at a perfect moment. Pisces New Moon is exactly how I’ve been feeling today—hadn’t realized it was already here. About that Cancer Mars—I was wondering, is it possible that people with natal Cancer Mars felt or noticed Mars going Retrograde in Cancer less?
