Time to Rebirth: The Astrological New Year is Here
A new cycle begins with Aries season, eclipse energy intensifies, and Neptune enters a new era.
How are you feeling after last week’s eclipse?! If you’re exhausted, emotional, fed up, and ready to start something new, then you’re definitely feeling the impact. We are currently sitting in-between two eclipses, so the energy is still very strong. Give yourself grace as you surrender to what the Universe is highlighting to you—remember, we are not manifesting, setting intentions or forcing anything during this period, we let the Universe take the wheel during eclipse season. By allowing yourself to surrender, you are also removing ego and inviting acceptance. Acceptance of the cards that have been dealt to you, acceptance of the things you cannot control, and acceptance of your path—even if it differs from what you expected.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my recent story about listening to intuition and Spirit. This week in particular is key to listening to what Spirit or the Universe is trying to communicate with you. A new fated path is being laid out in front of you this week as we sit between eclipses, reach the peak of Venus retrograde, approach the start of the new year with the Sun moving into Aries as well as experience multiple cazimi transits (when planets are purified by the Sun) and reach the anaretic degree (29°) of Neptune in Pisces—highly critical in astrology. This degree is the last degree a planet can sit in before it changes sign. Therefore, we sit in Neptune’s waiting room, in-between two worlds—one of which includes all of the lessons and wisdom from the past 14 years and one which holds the potential for new storylines for the next 14 years.
I can’t stress enough how this week brings major shifts. This is a time to simply be—no forcing, no controlling, no faking, no fronting, no people-pleasing, no bending over backwards, no masking. Go inward, connect to the truth you already hold within, and let your intuition speak to you. This is a great time to start a meditation practice because as I’ve mentioned, we don’t manifest during eclipse season and the eclipse we just experienced—one we are still feeling the effects of—was highly-charged.
For me personally, this eclipse has been deeply emotional, bringing buried feelings to the surface—I can tell that the Universe wants me to confront the pain I feel of constantly being overlooked or underappreciated—the quiet and sad sinking ache of wanting others to match my efforts and reciprocate the energy I give. It’s been a rocky week, but I hear the message and am trying to take action by making better choices that aren’t as triggering. That includes being mindful of who lifts me up and who makes me feel small and unimportant. I can sense that my strength and resilience is required at this time to prepare me for the next stage of life…and by the time this article is published, that’s happening tomorrow as we enter Aries season and therefore, the New Year.
Happy New Year
We have finally reached the end of Pisces season and by entering Aries season, we also begin the real new year. If you missed my article on the astrological new year, you can find it here. Since Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, it marks the beginning of a new annual cycle, which is why this week you may feel as if you are slowly gaining the clarity and learning the lessons from this past year in order to hit 2025 running on the 20th March. Sometimes we need to step back in order to leap forward and I think that perfectly sums up the final weeks of Pisces season leading into Aries season.
We are waking up from our winter slumber and stepping out of the hermit phase that has provided us with a sense of security. With the Sun moving into Aries—as well as numerous planets about to follow—it’s time to leave your comfort zone. You’ve downloaded enough messages from the Universe, Aries season is about acting upon them, or at the very least, having the courage and willingness to try.
From Pisces to Aries: A Shift from Dreams to Action
Speaking of planets moving into Aries, one of the biggest transits this year is Neptune’s shift into Aries. Neptune has been in Pisces (the sign it rules over) since 2012 so this is a big deal. I won’t lie—I’ve been a little nervous to see what this transit will bring. In short, we are going to witness a surge in activism as people defend their rights and demand to be heard. Remember, Aries is ruled by the planet Mars, associated with fire, separation, violence, cutting, action and passion. Looking at the current state of the world, you can connect the dots and piece together what Neptune in Aries will bring.
Neptune’s shift into Aries on 30th March, 2025, is one of the most significant astrological events of the decade. Neptune is the planet of dreams, illusions, addictions, delusion, spirituality, and collective consciousness, and moves very slowly, spending about 14 years in each sign. The last Neptune in Aries cycle (1861-1875) coincided with major social uprisings, wars, and technological advancements. This period included the American Civil War, the rise of feminism and suffrage movements, and new inventions that changed society forever. We can expect similar themes to emerge over the next decade—bold movements, societal reinvention, and a fight for autonomy on both a personal and collective scale.
As Neptune enters Aries, the energy will shift dramatically. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac—bold, pioneering, and action-oriented. Rather than floating in the dreamy, idealistic realm of Pisces, Neptune in Aries will ignite a fire within us, urging us to turn visions into tangible action. This is a transit of spiritual warriors, individual sovereignty, and radical self-expression.
Neptune in Aries will challenge us to step into our power and fight for what we believe in. It’s a call to take spirituality from the dream world into action—a shift from passive spirituality to active spiritual engagement. We’re stepping into a brand-new era of spiritual awakening, self-discovery, and redefined leadership. I wrote a little overview on Neptune in Aries in my 2025 astrology article here—definitely worth a re-read for context.
Themes of Neptune in Aries: What to Expect
On the positive side, this transit will bring stronger creativity and originality in art, music, and storytelling. You may find yourself breaking free from beliefs that have held you back, exploring new spiritual practices, or engaging more with your community. However, as Neptune also rules illusions, the downside could be an increase in extreme ideologies, toxic masculinity, and heightened conflicts over belief systems.
Since Neptune dissolves boundaries, I hope this transit will dissolve outdated societal structures and create a more equitable environment for marginalised communities, particularly POC. This transit, like the last Neptune-Aries cycle, could strongly bring to the forefront, the general mistrust in government that’s been highlighted over the past year.
Mars represents extremity and passion, and Aries is the fighter. When paired with Neptune, this could manifest as spiritual or ideological warfare—a collective cultural shift. This does not mean the end of the world—it means transformation and change. And historically, real change has never come easily.
Neptune in Aries key themes include:
Spiritual Independence – Moving away from traditional religious structures and seeking personal, direct experiences with the divine. Some people who have followed a specific faith their whole lives may suddenly shift their beliefs, while others may unexpectedly embrace spirituality.
Revolutionary Leadership – A rise in bold, visionary leaders who break away from outdated systems to create new movements. I’ve also spoken about POC forming stronger communities to protect themselves and advocate for equality. Expect an increase in activism across different perspectives and a stronger focus on individualism in spiritual and political realms.
The Fight for Truth – While Neptune in Aries brings courage, it can also bring delusions around identity, purpose, or beliefs. We may see an increase in ideological battles, where people are fiercely fighting for their version of ‘truth’—even if it’s built on illusions.
Innovation – We may see groundbreaking trends in art, fashion, and entertainment that push boundaries and challenge norms. I’ve spoken about the rise of AI-generated art, virtual reality, and immersive storytelling which could take creativity to an entirely new level—though the Neptunian side of this will blur the lines between what’s real and what’s artificial.
A Shift in Healing & Medicine – I think this transit could bring advancements in holistic healing, energy work, and alternative medicine, blending ancient practices with modern technology. There will be more of a focus on finding other ways to heal outside of what we have been taught.
Rebirth & Renewal
The end of this month will push you into a new beginning as Pisces season closes and the outer planets transition into new signs. Remember, we are also about to approach the halfway point of Venus’ retrograde journey—the point of rebirth and renewal as Venus transitions from an evening star to a morning star on the 22nd March.
This is your fresh start—an opportunity to act on the dreams and intentions that have been forming within you. What will you start in this next chapter of life? What goals and accomplishments do you want to pursue in this new cycle? You don’t need to have all the answers now—just take time to reflect, journal, and allow this new energy to settle as you find your feet and step into your next phase of life.
