The Next Big Transit of 2025: Innovation, Revolution and...WWIII?
Uranus in Gemini = the revolution will be televised…and tweeted. Plus I talk about mid-life crisis aka the Uranus Opposition.
Last week I wrote about how the Solstice has set us up for a direction of change, leading us into the Cancer New Moon which occurred on the 25th June. That New Moon was one of the best moon’s to work with in terms of manifesting and intention-setting. I hope you took advantage of it!
I also said in last week’s article that as we head into July, the next big transit for 2025, is bringing major change and unpredictability in yet another area of our lives.
So today, I’ll be discussing Uranus moving into Gemini and what that will mean for each of the signs for the next 7 years!
First, let’s rewind back to my 2025 astrology calendar which you can find in this article. We’re now halfway through the year and you can already see that the second half of 2025 will be coloured by the next round of eclipses and retrogrades. Many of the outer planets that have recently changed signs will soon begin to move back into the previous sign, offering the opportunity to reflect, reevaluate, and pause to consider the actions and themes that unfolded earlier in the year.
In the same article, you can see that I’ve already written a general overview of what Uranus in Gemini could bring. In short: Uranus operates on an 84-year cycle, spending around seven years in each zodiac sign. Because of this, it’s not considered a ‘personal’ planet but a generational one. People born around the same time as you will share the same Uranus sign.
For the next seven years, Uranus in Gemini will usher in innovation and ingenuity like we’ve never seen (I still think flying cars could be possible!). But it’s worth noting that Uranus in Gemini has historically coincided with some of the most significant global conflicts, including World War II and the American Civil War. So you can see where we’re heading given the current state of the world—Uranus in Gemini will bring disruption but also a rise in activism and collective movements. Uranus in Gemini delivers a message of revolution.
In modern astrology, Uranus is associated with Aquarius. Think: rebellion, justice, activism, humanity, committing to a cause. You can already feel this energy building, especially in how people are speaking out (Gemini = communication) about what’s happening in Gaza. Look at the Kneecap/Glastonbury news for example. In the article, Mo states:
"We understand colonialism and we understand how important it is to support each other internationally."
Glastonbury founder Sir Michael Eavis added:
"People that don't agree with the politics of the event can go somewhere else."
That’s Uranus in Gemini—bringing the debate to the world stage. Uranus represents the societal struggles of a generation.
Remember, Gemini is just as much about connection as it is communication. And when Uranus enters the sign, that connection surpasses borders. Uranus in Gemini furthers the debate in the global space—Uranus rules the internet and networks! At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Anonymous re-emerged during this transit.
I do find it interesting that it's musicians and bands who seem to be speaking up the most (at least from what I’ve seen online). Perhaps that’s just because festival season has coincided with the timing of this transit; Uranus = societal/political disruption, Gemini = debate, speaking out. Although, after I saw Massive Attack’s statement on Palestine, I looked up the birth chart of founding member Robert Del Naja. Interestingly, he has his north node (destiny point) in Gemini so Uranus will be passing over this point during it’s transit! He’s also an Aquarius sun.
I couldn’t find the chart for any Kneecap members but I think their Coachella and Glastonbury appearances have sparked a debate regarding artists rights to freedom of expression, and what does that sound like? Yup, Uranus in Gemini.
What’s even more on the nose, is that Kneecap have just launched their artist-led alternative PSA, ‘See it. Say it. Censored.’ For those outside the UK, ‘See it. Say it. Sorted.’ is a campaign slogan from the British Transport Police and something you’ll hear often on public transport. The flipping and switching of the language is so Uranus in Gemini—Gemini rules language, communication, writing. Gemini is also known as the sign of the twins—a dual perspective. You can’t make this up!

Now that you’ve got the context on a collective level, let’s explore what Uranus in Gemini might mean for you personally.
And I use ‘personally’ loosely here because as I mentioned, Uranus isn’t considered a personal planet in astrology. A personal planet such as Mercury, will have greater impact on you compared with a generational planet like Uranus that has greater impact on the collective and society as a whole. However, this doesn’t mean we are exempt from experiencing any change whatsoever.
I’m sure you’ve heard the term ‘mid-life crisis’. Unbeknownst to many, what they’re really experiencing is an astrological transit called the Uranus Opposition. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: your belief in astrology doesn’t affect whether or not it works. You don’t have to believe in gravity for it to hold you to the ground. Astrology operates similarly—unfolding in the backdrop of our lives whether you're conscious of it or not. We see that through a lot of ‘coming of age’ milestones—Saturn return being the most famous now.
Your Uranus Opposition occurs when Uranus moves into the sign opposite the sign that it was in at the time of your birth, so those with Uranus in Sagittarius (1981-1988) are about to experience their Opposition or ‘mid-life crisis’.
This is typically a time of upheaval. Your life is about to get a little challenging in terms of questioning where you’re currently at in life and whether you’ve made the right choices. You may feel like everything is suddenly falling apart but the point of the Uranus Opposition is to remove everything out of alignment in your life—especially in the places that you’ve gotten too comfortable hiding away in. This is a lifestyle change for a reason, Uranus doesn’t want safety, it wants authenticity.
This is why many people in their early 40s suddenly quit their jobs, end long-term relationships, or move abroad to live out their true desires. While your experience might not be so dramatic, more often than not, you tend to hear about people making extreme changes around this point of their life…that’s down to Uranus being the planet of unpredictability, change and instability.
This change doesn’t happen overnight, the transit unfolds over seven years so this will be a continued development. That doesn’t mean every day for the next seven years will be chaotic, but it does mean that by the end, you’ll be living differently than you are now. Over time, and with hindsight, you’ll realise that these changes were necessary for your growth; just ask the Uranus in Scorpio generation (born 1974–1981), who have now come through the other side.
For anyone who has gone through their Uranus in Opposition transit already, I’m sure most can point to those years as a turning point in their lives, a period that reshaped their direction.
Even if you’re not going through your Uranus Opposition, this transit will impact everyone differently based on where Gemini falls in your chart.
Read below based on your rising sign to find out what area of life Uranus in Gemini is activating for you (and if you don’t know why we use the rising, read this article).
Aries Rising: Rewriting the Rules of Communication
This transit shakes up how you think, speak, write, and share ideas. Over the next several years, expect breakthroughs around learning, teaching, or building new skills. Your voice becomes a tool for innovation, especially through writing, speaking, or online platforms. Sibling or community dynamics may shift, and short-distance travel or daily routines could become more unpredictable—or more liberating.
Taurus Rising: Redefining your Value System
Uranus moves into the part of your chart that rules money, resources, and self-worth. You’re being asked to challenge old beliefs about what you need versus what you truly value. Expect major shifts with your finances, but keep in mind they’re meant to push you toward greater freedom and sustainability. This is a chance to build a relationship with money that aligns with your values, not just your habits.
Gemini Rising: This is Personal
Uranus will enter your sign! This is a major chapter for you. Your identity, appearance, and personal goals are all up for revision. Expect to feel restless but also more alive. Over the next several years, you may reinvent how you present yourself to the world or feel pulled to detach from old versions of who you were. Change is coming from the inside out. This is your awakening.
Cancer Rising: The Quiet Revolution
This is a deeply internal transit. Uranus in this part of your chart stirs up your subconscious and spiritual life, your dream world, and the places you tend to hide from others (and maybe yourself). Breakthroughs can come through solitude, rest, or even dreams. This is about detaching from old patterns or fears that have quietly shaped your life. Give yourself space to retreat and recalibrate.
Leo Rising: New People, New Purpose
Your social life is about to get interesting. Uranus is shaking up your friendships, group dynamics, and future dreams. Over the next few years, you may disconnect from certain communities or ideals that no longer feel aligned. In their place, unexpected new people, movements, or causes could light you up. This is about finding your place in the collective and using your voice to shape what comes next.
Virgo Rising: Disrupting the Career Script
Get ready for changes in your career or public image. Uranus is challenging you to rethink what success looks like and to pursue it in your own way. This could mean a shift in your professional path, your long-term goals, or how you're seen in the world. Promotions, pivots, or unconventional opportunities may come up, especially if they align with your deeper sense of purpose.
Libra Rising – A New Philosophy
Your belief system is undergoing a shake-up. This transit affects your worldview, long-term vision, and relationship with truth. You may explore new studies, travel more, or completely change your perspective on something core to your identity. You could even move abroad. If you've been living by borrowed beliefs, Uranus will urge you to find your own. Teaching, publishing, or pursuing something big and bold could be part of this chapter.
Scorpio Rising: Radical Intimacy
Big shifts are coming in the realm of intimacy, trust, and shared resources. This may affect how you merge with others, emotionally, sexually, and/or financially. You may experience sudden endings or new beginnings in close partnerships, or uncover deep truths about what you share and why. This is a powerful time for inner transformation. The more honest you are, the more liberating it becomes.
Sagittarius Rising: Unexpected Partnerships
Uranus is disrupting your one-on-one relationships be it romantic, business, or otherwise. You may attract unconventional partners or navigate sudden changes in how you relate. Your partner may unexpectedly go through life changes that create major change for you. Some connections may end, others may begin, but the theme is always the same: freedom. If you've been playing a role just to keep the peace, Uranus will push you to be real even if it’s uncomfortable. It’s time to be honest in your relationships, honest about your boundaries and what you are willing (or not) to put up with.
Capricorn Rising: Shake-up in your Systems
Your day-to-day life is getting a reboot. Uranus is here to revolutionise your habits, health, work routines, and how you manage your time and energy. You might feel called to quit something that no longer fits or change how you structure your daily responsibilities. This is a great time to experiment with new ways of working, moving, or supporting your well-being, especially if they break you out of a rut.
Aquarius Rising: Reclaiming Joy
This transit is all about reawakening your creativity and sense of play. Uranus is shaking up your romantic life, creative projects, and connection to pleasure and fun. Old definitions of what’s ‘productive’ may fall away in favour of what’s meaningful. Children or creative expression could play a surprising role in your growth. Make space for joy, even if it arrives in unexpected ways.
Pisces Rising: Rewriting the Meaning of Home
Your foundation is shifting. Uranus is moving through your home, family, and emotional roots, bringing changes to where and how you live—or even who you call family. You might feel restless in your current environment or pulled to explore a new way of belonging. This is your chance to redefine what stability means, and to create a home that truly supports your growth.
Once again you saw me - Capricorn rising and started the reboot last week, before I read this 🙏
I love love love your posts and get so excited when something drops. Uranus opposition has begun for me hooray… 🫠beautifully timed with Pluto opposing both my moon and my Venus…
but the way you’ve framed it is exciting and I know whatever happens needs to happen and probably just the universe pushing my ass where I’ve been too lazy to/ scared to go.
Best is yet to come.
Big love from this Leo Sun / Scorp rising Uranus opposition girl x
